FANTASTIC FIRST FOR BARRA O’TUAMA PROMOTIONS CONCERT | |  | Opera lovers all around the country will be delighted to hear that Barra O’Tuama Promotions will present another of their NEW YEAR OPERA GALA concerts next January and these will be concerts will have a very special twist indeed.
On Saturday the 19th January at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and on Saturday 26th January at the City Hall in Cork Barra O’Tuama Promotions will present the first ever, full length concerts with Orchestra, which include Ireland’s best-loved sopranos, Majella Cullagh, Mary Hegarty and Cara O’Sullivan singing together. They will be accompanied by the RTE Concert Orchestra, conducted by another favourite of Irish audiences, Phillip Thomas of the English National Opera.
This is a great coup and a great honour for the company and a great treat for opera lovers everywhere as, due to their busy schedules all over the world, this is the first opportunity ever, for all 3 to come together for full-length concerts with Orchestra.
In recent years Majella, Mary and Cara have all been extremely busy with their careers not alone in Ireland but in the UK, Europe and as far away as Australia and the United States.
The programme for the concerts will be a mixture of overtures, operatic arias, duets, trios’ operetta plus a few unusual and delightful surprises. These performances are supported by the Evening Echo, The Herbert Park Hotel, Dublin, RTÉ lyricfm, Suits Distributors Ireland and the Sunday Independent.
